2nd FICDATA "Advocacy Art Exhibition"

You can participate!

As part of activities marking the 10th anniversary celebration of the Beautiful Feet International (BFI)

ministry, the FRANCODUS INT’L COMMUNICATIONS (FIC) in association with Christian Comic Art Society –

Africa Outreach (CCAS – AFRIK), are organizing a group Christian Art exhibition tagged:

“OPEN HEAVENS (the God factor in Nigeria’s Quest for National Re-engineering).

The exhibition is an effort to support the BFI vision.

            Professional Artists anywhere in the world, who have got our stuff and can make an artistic comments on the way forward for Nigeria to realize her VISION 2020, can freely participate in the exhibition with related works they intend to sell during the event which opens at the National Museum Hall on the 8th to 12th December, 2008.

PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS:

1.         Collect a FICDATA  participation form for just N2,000 only, carefully complete and return the form on time to secure your space in the FICDATA exhibition brochure. Because spaces are limited, only forms duly completed and returned on or before the 15th of November, 2008, will be accepted for participation in the 2nd FICDATA exhibition. Forms can be collected from:

           Mr. F.U. Odupute (Head, Cartoon/Arts Section, the Nigerian Observer Newspapers, 24 Airport Road, Benin City. +2348023680030);

          Or by sending an email to: beautifulfeetinter@hotmail.com, or fic_55@yahoo.com.

2.                  Participants may submit a maximum of 5 good works in any medium (drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, textile, graphics, cartoons/comics, metal designs, etc) provided the works have clear Christian themes. Only good works intended to be sold at reasonably cheap rates by authors can be exhibited. Also, because the exhibition is for the support of the BFI evangelistic efforts during their 10th Anniversary, all exhibitors whose works are sold shall give 30% of the money as commission to the organizers as support for the BFI work. This is clearly spelt out in the membership/participation form.

3.                  All exhibitors shall be liable for the originality and moral implications of works they exhibit. Plagiarism and lewdness are highly forbidden. The organizers shall not be liable for any form of duplicity; and all rights to works exhibited remain those of the authors thereof, albeit the organizers shall have the right to document exhibited works and subsequently publish them in our not-for-profit promotional or reference materials, with or without notice to author, after the event.

4.      Works submitted in person MUST be submitted framed and very presentable to prospective buyers. Works submitted via email MUST be in JPEG and have a minimum resolution of 300dpi; A4 sized only, while works submitted by post MUST be well packaged and very presentable, and by registered mail only. All correspondence addressed to: 2ND FICDATA ADVOCACY ART EXHIBITION, PO. BOX 14922, BENIN CITY, EDO STATE, NIGERIA.

5.      All works must be submitted directly by the authors to the exhibition curator/organizers on or before the 25th of November, 2008. Authors must retrieve their unsold works in person at the end of the exhibition. No transaction in proximity is allowed before, during and after the exhibition. The organizers will not be held responsible for unsold works not collected by their owners after 15th of December, 2008. Posted works can only be sent back to the authors if they pay for the postage ahead of time. Emailed works WILL NOT be returned.

6.      A colourful brochure for the exhibition shall be produced, and sold during and after the exhibition. Every exhibitor shall have a FREE copy each. Participants’/exhibitors’ information etc, in the brochure will be as provided by the participant in the form.

Publicity: The No. 1 aim of this exhibition is to educate, enlighten and appeal to the consciences of the NIGERIAN people. The second aim is to make some money for the exhibitors and also for the BFI ministry. Thus, all participants must engage in massive awareness creation/publicity for the event via, word of mouth, reminders, etc, especially those around Benin City. Participants can also support the organizers to put the news on their networks via their web blogs, etc.
